The Arts
Throughout the year, we offer many different arts-based event opportunities for our students. Please take a look at the events to get a better explanation of what those events entail.
Focus on your Artistic Side
Writers Workshop
The Writer’s Workshop is an event for middle school students that encourages them to explore creative writing through activities centered around a specific theme. (Last year's theme was Broadway.)
NAGC Photography Contest
This localized contest permits students interested in the art of photography to enter some of their best work into the competition. The competition has different categories to enable students to dabble in the many different photographic styles.
Poetry Slam
The WPCTE Poetry Slam is an annual spoken word and slam poetry competition for middle and high school students in grades 7 through 12 across Western Pennsylvania. Sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of English (WPCTE), the event gives students a safe space to share original work, build community, and amplify their voices.
